The administrative organization that oversaw the University altered in step with the university’s expanding student body and academic offerings. After the amended University statutes were published in October 2004, the Colleges were established in January 2005. The University’s Colleges function according to a three-tier academic and administrative structure.
The Offices of the Provosts of Colleges, Deans of Faculties, and Heads of Departments function as part of the Academic/Administrative Three-Tier System.
Six Colleges make up the basic framework of KNUST today. Faculties make up these colleges. Departments are divisions of these Faculties. These Colleges house all departments and programs, new and old. Where required, the Departments cooperate and work together. They are;
